A consortium including entrepreneurs from the early days of UK and Yorkshire commercial radio is promising to deliver a new broadcasting format with the launch of a new bid for the coveted FM licence for West and South Yorkshire.

Nova 106 pledges to give listeners a broad mix of contemporary and classic album rock music combined with high quality regional news, information and features geared to an adult audience.

Newsquest, the UK's largest regional newspaper group, is backing the bid consortium, Yorkshire Radio Enterprises Ltd and will underpin Nova's news service and use its Internet expertise to support broadcast activities.
